GENERAL ITINERARY


DAY 1, 17 September
Arrival at Malpensa airport and private transfer to your hotel in Milan. Free time to explore Milan on your own until dinner. Dinner at a gourmet restaurant.

DAY 2, 18 September
Private transfer to Bologna and stop on the way in Parma for a guided visit of a “ Prosciuttificio di Parma." Then onto a Parmigiano Reggiano cheese dairy to see the authentic 900-year-old method of manufacturing Parmigiano with high-quality milk, natural rennet and salt. Dinner and overnight stay in Bologna.

DAY 3, 19 September
After breakfast, we will visit the historic centre of Bologna for a full- day guided visit of food markets and ancient streets lined with special food shops, stands and delis. Lunch at a famous restaurant followed by sightseeing in the afternoon and an ice cream stop (optional) at one of Bologna’s best gelateria. There will be an optional visit to the famous Italian cooking school Casa Artusi, with dinner. Dinner and overnight stay in Bologna.

DAY 4, 20 September
After breakfast, transfer to Santa Margherita Ligure along the Ligurian coast, near Genoa. Midway there will be a shopping stop at around 10.30am at a famous discount outlet village with over 100 high-end Italian brands. In the afternoon, transfer to your hotel in Santa Margherita Ligure or surrounding areas for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 5, 21 September
Today is a free day to explore the beautiful seaside village of Santa Margherita Ligure on your own. There will also be an optional tour to the villages of San Fruttuoso and Portofino. San Fruttuoso village is set in a breathtakingly beautiful inlet lying at the foot of Mount Portofino. The village lies around the San Fruttuoso di Capodimonte Benedictine monastery, which has a tranquil little garden as well as a 10th century church, a 13th century abbey and a small Romanesque cloister. Further along the coast is the famous harbour village of Portofino.

DAY 6, 22 September
After breakfast, transfer by private bus to Genova for a full day guided visit and walking tour. Genoa is a spectacular Mediterranean city still unknown to many visitors to Italy and one of the most important seaports in this region. It is not showy and its distinct mysterious character is revealed only by walking in the small lanes and alleys, discovering its sights, sounds, scents and people. Visit the city's famous palaces and museums, and stroll around the harbour.

DAY 7, 23 September
After breakfast, transfer to Torino to visit EATALY, the famous food emporium, and other famous food landmarks. Visit also the shrine of Don Bosco.

DAY 8, 24 September
After a leisurely breakfast, depart for Milan for lunch at a gourmet restaurant in the historic city center and a half day city tour in the afternoon that will cover all the major highlights of Milan. Transfer to Malpensa airport in the evening for your flight back to Manila. Arrive in Manila on 25 September 2011.
