Travelife Magazine general manager Gel Bayona wrote, from Goa:

"We were treated to cocktails, gastronomic Indian cuisine, and of course some Bollywood music and dancing with our new local and foreign friends. It was indeed a fun and interactive night while getting to know more about Goa and what it can offer.

The next day, the Goa International Travel Mart (GITM) was officially inaugurated at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium took place the next day.

That’s where the Governor of Goa, H.E. Shri Bharat Vir Wanchoo, and Principal Secretary of Tourism Shri RK Srivastava IAS invited guests."

TRAVELIFE MAGAZINE:
REPRESENTING SOUTHEAST ASIA WITH PRIDE

Travelife General Manager Gel Bayona
being interviewed for Indian television

Travelife Magazine was there to represent Asia. In the process we dicovered the wonderful destination of Goa.

With a unique blend of East and West and its unmistakeable Portuguese influence, Goa is truly an exotic destination -- and we're going to be sharing some of what we experienced in upcoming issues of Travelife Magazine.

Travelife Magazine general manager Gel Bayona added, from Goa:

"One thing that struck us was how they wanted Goa to be a premier investment and tourist destination from an ecologically friendly viewpoint. They want tourists to visit, and to take care and be responsible of Goa too.

We think this is important, especially for a place to stay as beautiful and as pristine. We had an incredible time getting to know Goa in India -- a land of contrasts, rich history, and colors.

Goa is definitely a must-visit, especially for people who are constantly looking for a never ending and never-endingly eventful Travelife."

Great service on the way to Mumbai onboard Malaysia Airlines

TRAVELIFE Magazine recently attended the 4th Goa International Travel Mart as one of the few representatives from Southeast Asia.

REPORT FROM INDIA

Travelife General Manager Gel Bayona sent this initial report from India:

"Last April 1, 2014, we visited the beautiful province of Goa in India.

We flew in via Malaysia Airlines 777 from Manila to Kuala Lumpur and then from Kuala Lumpur to Mumbai.

It was a long day spent on a series of flights, but we were treated so well that we hardly noticed the time. The staff’s attentiveness, professionalism, and personalized treatment were wonderful.

GREAT FOOD ONBOARD

Onboard, we were pampered with superb service and a wide array of both Malaysian and Indian cuisine.

We also enjoyed an extensive selection of wines and other beverages including our personal favorite, guava juice.

There was even a food cart consisting of all-you-could-eat lamb and chicken satay with peanut sauce and some vegetables on sticks.

TIME FLIES WHEN YOU'RE HAVING FUN

Of course, we couldn’t resist watching a number of updated and classic movie collections.

We enjoyed some good foodgreat moviessuperb service, and a relaxing sleep on their state-of-the-art seating with varying reclining positions.

It was a very long flight from Manila to Mumbai, and then to Goa, but we enjoyed it immensely onboard the Malaysia Airlines 777."

Sri Lanka Tour, February 5-11, 2013

Sri Lanka Tour, Feb 5-11, 2013

I still remember the exact moment when the inspiration for a trip to Sri Lanka came about.

Sometime in the middle of last year, H.E. Nawalage Bennett-Cooray, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Philippines, invited us to his residence to discuss our most recent trip to Sri Lanka over dinner.

I liked Sri Lanka so much that I went twice in a matter of 12 months.

Sri Lanka Tour, Feb 5-11, 2013

On the first visit, we’d visited Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle and the fortress town of Galle, and shot three television episodes.

On the second visit, we’d climbed Sigiriya Rock and the Dambulla Caves and photographed Sigiriya for our cover.

Sri Lanka Tour, Feb 5-11, 2013

“Why don’t we organize a tour for Travelife readers?” We all thought suddenly said aloud, almost in unison.

Sri Lanka Tour, Feb 5-11, 2013

It was the perfect time to visit Sri Lanka since the country had just opened up after a terrible period of war and unrest, and it was still at its most peaceful and pristine.

Already, many major hotel chains are breaking ground for new properties all over the island, and especially in Colombo. When the crowds and tourist buses start coming, it will probably be unrecognizable in a few years.

Sri Lanka Tour, Feb 5-11, 2013

Last month, this idea became a reality. An adventurous and extremely fun-loving group accepted our invitation to join us on a week-long discovery of Sri Lanka that included its most famous UNESCO World Heritage sites at Dambulla, Sigiriya, and Polonnaruwa.

The trip was organized in cooperation with the Embassy of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka-Philippine Friendship Association, and in partnership with Thai Airways.

Sri Lanka Tour, Feb 5-11, 2013

A second tour to Sri Lanka is being planned for July 7 – 13, 2013.
